That seems really complicated.
Is this something I should use the “Table Of Contents” shortcode for?

Hello There,

Thanks for the updates! Regretfully the TOC shortcode don’t have a fixed sidebar. I would suggest that you may use a 3rd party plugin that will make your sidebar as fixed. You might be interested in this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=fixed+sidebar
