    How do I change the white space around recent posts?

    I want the white parts to be black and I want to have a purple 1px border around the black space.
    I will also change the text under each post to be white text.

    just to clarify, I am talking about the white space around the featured image as well as the white space around the post title underneath.

    Try adding this in your Customizer > Custom > CSS:

    .x-recent-posts a{
border: 2px solid #e614ff;
color: #fff;
background-color: #000;
}
