Mark BParticipantHello I have a question.
Id like to get hosting. However I require to store report files on my website for clients to access?
How can i do that with wordpress and using your hosting?
The reports are in html5 and i typically password protect the main file structure in channel.
Each report is about 18mb. and I only keep for 6months up<Thanks for the ideas

NicoModeratorHi There,
Thanks for writing in! Regretfully this isn’t a feature offered by X. It could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. You may wish to consult a developer to assist you with this. X is quite extensible so there are plenty of possibilities.
The only protect or password protected content tha X theme has is the password protect content element.

Thanks for understanding. Take care!

Mark BParticipantI was just wondering with your hosting will i have access via FTP? Can i add a single folder to the root outside of WP install? also would i be able to add an htaccess and htpasswd file in this added folder?
Thanks,

JadeModeratorHi Mark,
FTP access is included in the hosting service that we provide but the directory permission is set to the root of the WordPress install and directories outside of it is not permitted for access due to security reasons.

Mark BParticipantOh. Well could I create a folder called “Reports” and have several folders within that main folder. And let’s say my web address was http://www.gtahomeinspector.com/Reports/zH-123_Main_St/Report.html
And place the .htaccess file in zH-123_Main_St
With the .htpasswd somewhere safe.. (Recommendations are appreciated )I just need to email the full link above and provide the user and pass in the email. When there presented login filled and access granted..
Thanks for input
Cheers
Mark

Rue NelModeratorHello Mark,
Yes of course you can do that. Just make sure that you create the folders within your root directory the same as where your site files were located.
Please let us know how it goes.
