Hi all,

I am new to this WordPress design stuff and need some help, I have a clear view of the layout of my website and how I want to look, but I can’t seem to find a way to layout the segments how I want it..

Let me explain in more detail, I am creating a website and on it I need the following:

-Home / Landing page
-Services
-“Our Mission”
-Pircing
-Contact us

All of these I have made in Photoshop / Illustrator at the standard website page of 1024 / 768 px.

I simply want it to be a scroll through website, so each page takes up the entire screen and you scroll down to go to the next section, everything is made up I just can’t get the layout right so I can entire an entire page image.

Can anyone help and suggest the best way to do this?

Hi There,

It will be a pleasure to help you.

First of all welcome to WordPress and X, you will notice it is an amazing combination and you will be able to achieve pretty much anything.

X offers a lot of DEMo´s standard demos and Extended demos, the standard demos with just with a home page (of course you can build the other pages) While the extended demos come with inner pages also.

The first thing I would do, is to check our Demo´s and see if any of them fit the layout you are trying to build, it can be a good starting point and by analyzing how they are build you also will understand the theme and Cornerstone a bit better.

if your desired layout is completely different from the demos, you can start from scratch.

I recommend you watching our Knowledge base videos:

1- Customizer : I always start my website with the customizer there you will set the general layout and design of your website that will affect every page.

2- Cornerstone series. This is an incredible builder, like any tool might take little time to get used to it, once you play with it for a couple of days you will be flying!

3- WordPress series is also useful

To create pages > you go to page> create new > Edit with Cornersont.

To add to Menu > go to Appereance > Menus > Drag and drop your pages to the menu, I reccomend you watching some youtube videos if you need help, it is pretty easy, but when we are not familiar with things, easy things can look hard.

It is going much better, I am starting to get to grips with the layout and it is starting to come together nicely.

I have one concern, I can’t find a way to import a font which I use for my business? ‘GT PRESSURA BOLD” which is downloaded and kept in my Font book on my Mac.

Is there any way I can upload this and use it on my site at all ?

Again I am struggling with the whole layout of my website, I have turned it on to public so you can have a look for yourself @ goldvirtuemarketing.com

I have also attached images so you can look and best advise me.

I want my website to be a simple scroll down website, not one where you click on the links (home, about, services etc) and it directs you to an entirely new page.

I want it so that when you click on the links, you simply get taken to a lower point on that page, or higher depending on where you are when you click on the link.

What is the best (and easiest!) way to go about this?

Thanks for the link, however I can’t seem to edit my page using corner stone anymore… It comes up with the following message

“A suitable content area for the live preview couldn’t be established… Switching to skeleton mode.”

I have attached a screenshot of my screen also.

Hi there,

Upon checking your site, home page was created outside CS so it’s not edit able with CS. If you have issue editing a page which was originally created with CS, please provide us with URL of page in question and login credentials.

With one page navigation, is it best to create each page separately and then link it at the end or is it best to create the full long page all on one page and link it that way ?

Hi There,

If you plan to have just 1 page there is no need to create another pages, you just need to create this one page and add to each section of your page an ID for example : my-section-1 my-section-2 …

Than go to Appereance > Menus create your menu and add Custom Links to > #my-section-1 .. #my-section-2

Once you have the menu set, go back to your page > Edit Page > On wordpress classic back end editor > Select your menu as One Page Navigation Menu (Scroll down and you will find it)
