My site seems to have been hacked and was not functioning.

I ended up noticing that my index.php was changed so I think it got corrupted.

I restored from an older archive I had of my site and now it’s not working, can anyone help?

    Thanks

    Hi there,

Thanks for writing in! After reviewing the information provided above, I would try checking with your hosting provider on this particular issue as it sounds like something related to your setup is causing this. Typically, this is due server configuration problems. Additionally, your host will be able to diagnose things much better due to the fact that they have a more complete view of your account and can work behind the scenes with you. If the problem you are experiencing persists after working with your host, don’t hesitate to let us know and we will be happy to assist you. Any relevant information that you can share with us from your host is also greatly appreciated as it will help us to better ascertain the source of the problem.

    Thanks!

Sadly my host, Arvixe, are kind of terrible and they just keep telling me to restore from a backup, which sadly I don’t have a current backup of my site. I stupidly have not backed up in about 2 months.

I feel like everything that I’ve done on my site up until must still be there but there is something wrong with a few select files that is causing it not to work. I can’t even access the WP panel to login to do anything.

Would you mind taking a look to see if it’s something easy to fix?

    Hi Phil,

Thanks for writing in and sorry to hear that. I tried loading your link but it doesn’t show up on my end, just keeps spinning. Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:

    – Link to your site
    – WordPress Admin username / password
    – FTP credentials

Don’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.

Please note however that we can only take a look and see if there is anything we can suggest. We might not be of much help though if we can’t find any easy way, just trying to set your expectations. It’s always best to have regular backups to avoid situations like these.

    Thanks for understanding.

    Hi there,

There are many files returning with 404 response and 502 bad gateway. I’m not sure if it’s deleted or blocked, but you should contact your hosting provider to get more details.

I can’t confirm if this is an attack, but core libraries and other files are not loading. Hence, overall functionality of your site is currently down.

    Thanks!
