    Hi there,

I’ve build multiple websites with theme X by now, and always used Siteground as a hosting provider. With a my recent website, I experienced some issues concerning CPU usage and account executions, but since the website attracted not a significant amount of visitors, I was always able to control this.

Yesterday, a new website of mine got launched, which was announced through Facebook, the newspapers and through WoM. This resulted in a peak of visitors (around 700), and I soon got loads of notifications from Siteground that I exceeded my daily CPU seconds. From as far as I know, I don’t do many strange things with modifying theme X (I’am also not that experienced with this so…), I just do have a lot of plugins (see attachment).

Siteground told me I had to optimize the following things, and follow some of their optimization tutorials. They also said my database was 3.9GB in size, but I don’t know anything about databases and structuring them. This is what I did, on the advise of Siteground’s helpdesk.
    1) Disabled the cron by WordPress and instead run them by Siteground every 30 minutes.
    2) Install the Heartbeat plugin, to manage the admin-ajax execution script (changed default to 60 seconds, and changed the it to post and pages only)
    3) Added a huge amount of code to the .htaccess that should block bots
    4) Enabled Cloudflare to minimze the amount of direct requests

Besides that, they said that the website was executing huge MySQL requests (see .txt attachment).

I am literally out of hope to fix this problem. Upgrading does not work they say and I am not educated enough to solve this. Can you please help me or point me at least into the right direction, as Siteground constantly says I should contact the theme developer.

    Thank you!

    With kind regards,
    Hindrik
