This happened after the latest X theme update (v4.6.4) so I’m hoping you can help. I noticed I couldn’t delete plugins from the WP Plugins section (it threw an error “Deletion failed” with a bunch of html). I tried installing an add-on, and it says, “Error encountered. Details.” but clicking details just showed the Dashboard in a modal. I tried revoking the license. It verifies, “Validation revoked…” but at the bottom of the page (even after refreshing) says it is still verified. Also the message about updating X Theme never goes away no matter how many times I click the ‘x’.
I’ve tried disabling all of my add-ons and it had no effect on the problem.
Grateful for any light you can shed on the matter.

It seems you are using Wordfence Security and such security plugin cause this as they set some restriction and permission. Let’s try disabling this.

Are you using CloudFlare or may have installed a caching plugin like WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache or WP Super Cache? Please keep in mind that after doing every updates, always remember to clear all caches when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

I don’t use ClourFlare. Clearing cache in WP Rocket had no effect. Deactivating it had no effect either.

It’s reloading itself over and over until it freezes. We have to disable the theme and plugins before we can investigate. Please backup your site and provide your FTP login credentials in private reply.
For the meantime, please try disabling all other plugins except cornerstone and check if the issue persist.
