LFSdesignParticipantI have an essential grid set up that is a custom imaged based grid. I have a filter set up to sort the images by Car Make. Before I did the upgrade it was sorting the images by date order descending pulling the info from the media file. Now it no longer recognises the date the image was uploaded and is showing the cars in filter order(car model) either ascending or descending. I have set on nav-search/sort to sort on date and car model.
I upload every few days and add to the essential grid and as you can imagine this is now a nightmare in figuring out which photos have been uploaded already because rather than the back end/front end display defaulting to the more recent photos being shown first it is showing them by car make only.
So my questions are
Is there some kind of glitch with the new Essential Grid/x themes version that has affected sorting on grids (there are a LOT more fields you can input information into with this latest update.
Is there an easy way to make grids sort images into wp stored date order descending and then by a custom filter?
I have read the documentation already. I even tried to create a new grid, uploaded images, starting putting in the image data for meta and filters including a date in the date field within essential grid images, and then did a save after 10 images and the grid just crashed stuck in the waiting screen for 15mins. did a refresh and lost the imformation i put in against the images.
Any help would put most appreciated. Adding the photos, and adding the info into the fields on each image and then the save process itself has always been very very time consuming on essential grid. With this latest update and it’s problems I feel like I’m losing the will to live..lol
Thank you

LFSdesignParticipantThere does seem to be a glitch that causes the crashing. Tried again to add field data via essential grid edit image. If you click the x in the pop up box or you click close for any reason. it goes to save with the coffee cup and sticks there indefinately.
You then have to refresh and basically lose all the data you have inputted so far. I noticed a problem with the save on every version of essential grid over the past year in that although when you click save on the edit image box it looks like and says it has saved grid, it doesn’t actually save your grid work until you click the save icon on the right side of essential grid. in the past though clicking close or the x did not crash the grid.
I’m giving up for now until you hopefully get a chance to respond to me as spending 3 hours trying to edit and save only 24 of the images so far that I have just doesn’t make sense.
Thanks for your help and hopefully I will save someone else their time by pointing out the clicking on the close and the x problem of the edit image box.

LFSdesignParticipantI’ve noticed another problem since the last updates. There are error messages coming up now before images show up on the webpage. This is a new problem. The errors don’t appear on the backend only the frontend and its slowing the webpage loading up significantly. I’m not sure if the file referred to is an x-themes file or an essential grid file.

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for writing in! These could be a caching issue. Are you using CloudFlare or may have installed a caching plugin like WordFence, W3 Total Cache or WP Super Cache? Please keep in mind that after doing every updates, always remember to clear all caches when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.
Hope this helps. Please let us know how it goes.
