Is there a compatibility problem with the X theme and WP version 4.7? My system hangs for several minutes when I choose to customize the theme. Oddly, the local resources go way up in both CPU and Memory usage and Safari indicates that it is not responsive. It crashes when I’m in Chrome. If I switch to a different theme everything works fine. I have turned off all plugins so that it is not related to those. Any thoughts?

Hi There,

Would mind adding this in your wp-config.php located at the root directory of your site.

define( ‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘256M’ );
define( ‘WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘512M’ );

You can add it before the line

/* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

Thanks for your response Joao. I have tried that but it appears to have something to do with my Mac not the WP site. I just checked and it works OK on my PC. It’s a fairly new macbook pro so should not be having a problem. Any ideas what might cause this? Thanks again.

Hi There,

It could be related to your browser, some addons installed it, try a different browser if it works uninstall any addons you have on the browser, also remember to clean your browser cache.

Just FYI – It was an extension for a program called Dashlane. Once I turned that off everything worked fine.
