Simon TParticipantHey Guys,
Quick question: I have used an X child theme to setup this site (omeganutrition.com.au) which currently has just the one product with WooCommerce. In the WooCommerce settings, I have the ‘enable guest checkout’ box ticked but it’s just not working. Buyers do not get this option at checkout…
I am in the process of setting up the SSL (waiting for host to confirm). Would this be the issue, or is there something else I have missed?
Thanks in advance!

RadModeratorHi there,
Thanks for writing in.
Seems to be working fine, guest checkout will allow users to order/buy products without a need to log in. But it doesn’t mean that login functionality shouldn’t be there. It’s just an option for user wish to log in. Though, I could be wrong, would you mind providing a video recording showing this issue?
There should be no issue as long as you configure your site for https too. (eg. Admin > Settings > General )
Thanks!

Simon TParticipantAh, seems I am mistaken about what the guest checkout is.
What I want is for people to be able to make a payment with their credit card, without needing to have or sign up for a PayPal account. Is this possible?

RupokMemberHi there,
It depends on your payment option. If you have Credit Card option; user don’t need to sign up/sign in with PayPal. You might be interested to know a bit more from WooCommerce documentation – https://docs.woocommerce.com/documentation/plugins/woocommerce/getting-started/
And here is a helpful article about this – https://woocommerce.com/2015/12/guest-checkout-right-for-store/
Cheers!

Simon TParticipantHi Rupok,
I have read through all of this and still don’t see the answer to my query. I don’t seem to have the option to take credit card payments under the ‘checkout’ setting…

Simon TParticipantThis was due to our hosts setting up the SSL. They advised me to clear cache and re-load the page and it worked for me, perhaps do the same?
Thanks!!

Paul RModeratorHi Simon,
Please see screenshots

To allow credit card payments, you can try this third party plugin.
https://yithemes.com/themes/plugins/yith-woocommerce-stripe/
https://woocommerce.com/product-category/woocommerce-extensions/payment-gateways/
Hope that helps.

Simon TParticipantHi Paul,
I did already have that box ticked. Just to confirm – it’s not free to accept credit card payments?
The PayPal Powered by Braintree plugin does not help me as it’s for USA only – I am in Australia

RupokMemberHi there,
Yes it’s not free and you need to find out the best payment method for your country. Unfortunately we can’t help you on this much since it’s not related with X rather your configuration of payment method in WooCommerce. You can seek help from a developer if you are not aware of how WooCommerce and payment gateways work.
Cheers!
