I have followed other threads about this and tried adding the suggested code to my functions.php but still having the issue. The strange thing is I only have the problem on my live site at http://www.imcglass.com/ whereas on the development site at http://imc.instadesign.co.uk/ it’s fine, and I’ve just migrated over using WP Migrate DB pro so they are identical installations. I wonder if it could be more of a Javascript or server environment issue? I’ve just realised it may be the same root cause that’s also affecting the Google Recaptcha. Any help much appreciated!

Thanks for your response. I’m really confused by this. I didn’t set up an API for the development site at http://imc.instadesign.co.uk/ – how come it’s working there but not on the live site? Is this something that will be fixed in future updates or do all X theme users now have to go through this process for Google Maps to work?

I have now set up the API in my Google Developer Console and it’s active, but the map is still not working. Also I have embedded maps on other X (and non-X) sites, and they are alls till working… should I be preparing for those to fail also?

Hi Henry,

Your map should work. I just tested in a few installations so I learn well the process of the API and it worked fine.

The API is now necessary and it is not up to us.

I am sending you a video link, have a look let us know how it goes.

If it does not work,

Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:

– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password
– FTP credentials

I have followed the steps again, and added the code as specified here: https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/map-error/#post-1059000 to my functions.php but still the map doesn’t display. Actually it displays for a moment and then reverts to the error. I will send access details in a separate message now.

I just checked and there is no more MAP Key error. And your map is displaying the same as your dev site. Would you mind checking it again?

Hi Rad, thanks, it seems it just took some time to update. So now my only issue there is the ‘Invalid domain for site key’ error on the reCaptcha… is this a similar issue? Do I need to create my own API key and if so then where do I input it?

Hey Henry,

Please check your reCaptcha settings. That is a third party service though so you will need to ask help from there support.
