    Since, I was informed that X theme is no longer using Visual Composer and I cannot edit my pages using my frontend, do you have a replacement I can install or am I suppose to just let it all go now for my client’s site?

    I have edits to make asap! I used a demo page for the site’s event page and customized it and now cannot open the frontend to edit it due to Visual Composer not being available? I want an easy content editor.

    Please advise. This is ridiculous. I am not happy at all!

    Hey LS,

    Though Cornerstone is the main page editor of X, you still can use Visual Composer and it is bundled free with X. Its front-end editor is not supported though and that is the case ever since.

    Would you mind giving us your domain and access to your WordPress admin so we could take a closer look at your setup?

    Thanks.

    Also, if you know why it keeps telling me I am out of memory on line …. if I update anything lately. I am not sure how to fix a problem like this. When I get this error message, the entire site then goes down. I am now forced to go back to old snapshot just to keep the site running.

    My root files and hosting are on Network Solutions. I can give you the log in details for that as well.

    Is there a new issue with the X Theme needing more space in the database or?

    Hey There,

    Thanks for the information!

    Upon checking your website, you are currently using an older version of X theme, kindly go ahead and update your theme with the latest version 4.6.2 with the Purchase Code.

    Once you are updated with the latest theme, you’ll be able to use Cornerstone as it’s bundled with the X theme.

    Hope this helps!

    Let us know how it goes!

    I updated X theme a few weeks ago and the entire site went off line immediately after saying I was out of memory on several different lines of my files. So, I hesitate to update it now until I can figure out the issue and why it would say that just because I updated the site.
    Please advise

    I just updated again to the latest version of the X Theme, 4.6.2 and I do not see Cornerstone anywhere in the dashboard.

    I just updated to the latest X Theme and now am getting those error messages again. It says: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 30720 bytes) in /data/6/1/104/80/1919569/user/2090860/htdocs/home/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-screen.php on line 247

    Not sure how to fix this. My site will crash now. That is what happened a couple weeks ago when I updated the theme.

    Hi there,

    Cornerstone will be automatically installed and activate once you install the theme. If you have existing cornerstone, then you can just update it.

    About the error, it’s due to memory limit that your site has. WordPress has 64mb recommended memory limit, then rev. slider requires 256mb, and so on. The more you add plugins and features, the more it requires memory allocation. The solution is increasing your limit.

    Please edit your site’s wp-config.php through FTP, and add this line just below the WP_DEBUG line.

    define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M');

    If this doesn’t work then you’ll have to contact your hosting provider. Some hosting override this setting.

    Thanks!

    Okay, I added the line under:

    define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false);

    define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘256M’);

    So, it is now saved like above. I will let you know if it helps. Thank you very much for your help:)

    Okay, so the memory limit code line worked and I was able to update the X Theme now. However, without the use of Visual Composer, which it doesn’t work at all now, I am telling you, the whole site is formatted incorrectly. So, what am I supposed to do???? Even with Cornerstone, it doesn’t fix automatically? I don’t want to have to reformat this entire site. I don’t understand why without Visual Composer as part of the X Theme anymore, my site isn’t formatted how I had it before the X Theme update to 4.6.2? That isn’t acceptable to me as I have paid for this theme and expect my site to look exactly how I designed it to look initially!!!

    Also, now revolution slider at top of homepage isn’t working now that I updated X theme to 4.6.2. Why is this latest update so annoying and ruining my whole website????? Sometimes, if isn’t broke, leave it alone.
    My advice to your staff.

    I am about to get rid of the X Theme all together and write some bad reviews to spread out there!!!!!
    Get ready for some bad PR if my site isn’t running 100% soon. I’ve had it.

    Hi there,

    Cornerstone will not fix or reformat your contents that are made from the visual composer. They are both different builder and not cross compatible. There is no builder that could do that, else, there is no sense of having multiple builders when they are doing the same thing.

    Visual Composer is a 3rd party plugin and we don’t have control over their standard. Their old formatting may not work on their new versions, and not because of the theme. What X theme does is, it integrates all X elements. Still, layout and format are in control by the visual composer (the builder). About the slider, X old version has different slider structure and it will really break since it’s not compatible with newer version.

    And also, your versions are too old, upgrading to latest will surely break it. Hence, you’ll have to clone your site as staging and test the update there and fix all possible errors. It’s like existing Windows 95 and upgraded to Windows 10, programs running on Windows 95 will fail. And it’s recommended development practice to test updates on a staging site, most developer and site owner do that.

    Installation and updates should be done by developer or webmaster, we don’t do that and we can’t do that automatically. It should be done with user consent and caution.

    Thanks for understanding.
