adamcollinsParticipantHey there, quick question. I need to force a desktop view of my site for mobile devices. Reason being, I heavily use amCharts on my site and they look horrible on the smaller mobile version.
I’ve searched this topic before and found this thread:
I’m a bit confused. I based my site’s design off of a demo theme a couple of months ago. I’m confused on what steps to take to ensure 1) mobile users get the zoomed out full desktop view and 2) these changes will persist through multiple X and WordPress updates.
Any help would be much appreciated. My website is http://www.freecotdata.com

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for writing in! By default X theme is responsive. The columns and sections will automatically resize it’s width according to screen size. “these changes will persist through multiple X and WordPress updates.” the reason behind is because you added the modification in the parent theme. What you are trying to accomplish requires a template customization, I would like to suggest that you use a child theme. This allows you to make code changes that won’t be overwritten when an X update is released. After your child theme is setup, please review how we recommend making template changes in Customization Best Practices.
Hope this helps.

adamcollinsParticipantSo after the child theme is installed, what specific steps will need to be taken to force a desktop view for this site?

ChristianModeratorHey Adam,
We’re sorry but we do not support this customization. It could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. You might want to contact our trusted partners who caters X setup and customization needs. Please see https://community.theme.co/custom-development/. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities. Thanks for understanding. Take care!

LelyModeratorHi There,
Please check this thread:https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/how-to-disable-responsive-features/
Also note that we cannot support modifications made to alter entire site responsiveness since there are lots of variables that needs to be taken in to consideration. Thank you for understanding. -
