RalphParticipantHi there,
I’ve changed everything to deliver my website via SSL
* installed a SSL-Certificate
* added https to the WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) parameters under General > Settings.
* changed .htaccess to deliver all pages via SSL
* used a plugin like “Force SSL” or “Remove HTTP” (to remove the protocol from the link)but in the end I get “mixed content” because some background images can’t delivered via SSL (even the plugin doesn’t removes it).
Source code contains “background-image: url(http://mydomain.com/wp-content/…” and it seems to be hard coded by X theme.
The only way to change this is to remove the image in Cornerstone, then add it again and save the page.
Is there another more comfortable way to deliver the page SSL encrypted? Maybe via “search&replace” in the database?
Regards,
Ralph

Paul RModeratorHi Ralph,
Thanks for writing in!
Please navigate to Settings > General and make sure the WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) are set to https://.
Then you can follow the guide provided here: https://community.theme.co/kb/hosting-how-to-activate-ssl/
Hope that helps.

RalphParticipantHi Paul,
I’ve already put WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) to SSL before I posted my request.
Furthermore I’ve done all the tasks of the guide you provide but this doesn’t helped.

Ralph

DarshanaModeratorHi there,
I have tested this issue over SSL and this happens because of the core functionality of WordPress. Basically WordPress will save the old path to your images/background images without HTTPS and you will need to re-attach them in-order to fix this issue.
Currently I did not find any other method than manually fixing this issue.
Thanks for understanding.

RalphParticipantHello,
thank you for your explanation.
My idea is to do a “search & replace” in the wordpress database to change all http://mydomain.com –> https://mydomain.com
Could this be a solution?
And: Would it be helpful in the next project to start with SSL from the first beginning to record the correct path?

FriechModeratorHi Ralph,
Did you try the plugin? https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-force-ssl/ many issues that is same with this are solve with the plugin.
Yes, you can do the “search & replace” method, but follow the guide provided here: https://community.theme.co/kb/cornerstone-migration/ to make sure that you wont lose the pages that is built in Cornerstone.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks.
