shelly nParticipantHi there,
I’m trying to change the style of some text within a layer in Revolution Slider.
Under ‘Layer General Parameters’ the drop down menu under style does not change the font presets in the layer.Am I missing something in the set up?
Thanks in advance!

AlexanderKeymasterHi Shelly,
This is an issue with Revolution Slider that we are aware of. We’ve reached out to their support about it, and you can learn about our findings here: http://theme.co/x/member/kb/solutions-to-potential-setup-issues-revolution-slider/
Hopefully the suggestions there will help you get this working.

shelly nParticipantHi – thanks loads for the above. Unfortunately, even importing a demo slider has not resolved the issues.
I have loaded the google fonts as required but am very stuck on this.
With rev slider I cannot make things work correctly for my site so am desperate to get this working.
As I bought rev slider via X – I can’t seem to get support from Revslider. Can you help at all bearing in mind I have done all of the above under the knowledge base?
I have upgraded the theme to 2.2 and have tried importing a demo slider and also have tried loading the google font as shown. Why are text styles not being seen? I see them in the css files on the server.
THANKS – would appreciate any help or be pointed in the right direction..

RadModeratorHi Shelly,
Loading fonts does not mean that your layer font will change too. This is no way to automatically detect the font names once loaded, unless the plugin expect it ( means pre-built and just waiting to load ). There lot of fonts available, and the rev. slider plugin sure don’t know all of them.
What you need to do is manually define them on every style of your rev. slider.
Example,
1. Go to Layer General Parameters
2. Select the style you want.
3. Click Edit style.
4. Choose Advance Editor.
5. Change the font family declaration to your desired font name.eg.
font-family: 'Lato';6. Then click Save/Change
7. Then choose if you like to overwrite the current styling (you’re currently editing) or Save As a new copy. Either one, you could just re-use this style and will permanently available to your slider.Cheers!

shelly nParticipantHi,
I don’t mind if you go into the site and have a look please. I’ve given the server details in a previous email!
I’m afraid, I can’t reach the true potential of this theme unless I can resolve this slider issue. Really need to resolve asap- PLEASE HELP!
Thanks in advance.July 22, 2014 at 2:24 am #71839
shelly nParticipantHi there, unfortunately, I’m still struggling with changing the font style. Would it be possible to take a look at one of the slides I am testing? I’ve imported a Ken Burns slide which I was hoping would include some standard settings.
I’ve done as described above. Loaded the google font under general settings and have edited the css under advanced edit for the individual slider.
The preview edit window shows a change however the actual slider does not change – even when I update the slider and then preview.
So sorry to be a pain about this – I realise it is an old issue and seems to be occurring a lot in the forum – but simply can’t get it to work!
THANKS for any help!July 22, 2014 at 7:29 pm #72209
ChristianModeratorHey Shelly,
Please change your WordPress files and folders permission to 755 first because we get this error in the console http://prntscr.com/45dfyx.
Thanks.

shelly nParticipantHi there,
Thanks for your reply:)
I’ve changed the permissions. Please go ahead!July 24, 2014 at 12:37 am #72865
RadModeratorHi Shelly,
I am assuming that we’re both referring to revolution slider, and not your post slider at your home page.
I checked “Ken Burns Slider Fullwidth (kenburns_fullwidth)” slider, and still getting same errors ( Forbidden )
With additional error for font :
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 400 (Bad Request)Then I switch to 3steps slider then visited Advance Editor, and all I could find is empty font-family. No Open sans defined.
To make this faster, please follow these steps.
1. Contact your hosting provider for Forbidden Request. We can’t solve this as this is related to security setting and we don’t have control over it.
2. Create a new slider where all of your changes applied, then create a new page with this slider as a demo page.
3. Provide us the demo page url. These are essential as I don’t know where you at already, and this is to ensure that you could follow all changes correctly :), then we can start over that and help you.
It’s always best to provide all needed information, demos, and instruction of how we could reproduce the problem for faster turn around. 😉
Thanks.

shelly nParticipantHi there,
Really appreciate the help.. I’m impressed with the level of support you have given and wish I switched earlier to this theme.
Looks like there was a forbidden request in the .htaccess file which stopped the font uploads – I’ve had a quick play around and it’s looking good so far! !
Thanks again!!!
Warm regards.
