I have a similar problem, but my error says:
“An error occurred while updating Revolution Slider: Download failed. Unauthorized”
“An error occurred while updating WPBakery Visual Composer: Download failed. Unauthorized”

The plugin does not have a valid header.

I found a solution…. Open the theme files and find the plugin zips at framework/plugins/revslider.zip and plugins/js_composer.zip… and either upload them inside the install plugin window or unzip and drop them in the FTP

This could be related to your servers file and folder permissions. Usually if you installed X through the WordPress theme uploader, you won’t have any issues here.
Revolution Slider has an “uninstall” feature that deletes everything if you deactivate and delete from the plugins page in your dashboard. Upgrading via FTP is ok, and you can also use the manual plugin update feature on their settings page. If a new version of X has an updated version of Revolution Slider (or Visual Composer) it will prompt you to update.

I have the same issue, but my case is different. I receive an error message as follows:
“An error occurred while updating Revolution Slider: Download failed. Failure when receiving data from the peer”
I always use X-Child Theme which has activated since the beginning. Today my X-Theme was updated. Now I have 3 problems as follows:
1- I clicked the Revolution Slider update, but after around 30 mins it was still updating (the updating icon was still spinning)! I deactivated, deleted and installed the Revolution Slider plugin again. After clicking the update, even this time I waited for a long time, but it’s still processing (the updating icon is still spinning now)!
2- In the website, the menu fonts and the title has changed! I already submitted the screenshot. I’m using Agency Demo Content and have customised it after a few weeks.
3- Loading the website pages take a lot of time now. Before updating X every thing was fast and OK.
Please help me to fix these 3 problems.

I have purchased 3 copies of Xtheme for clients. I CANNOT UPDATE visual composer. It says NO LICENSE FOUND! Really, this is ridiculous!!!!!Hi Expertdetailstn,
Visual composer is a bundled plugin and we’re the one that will provide the update. There is no need for a license for bundled plugins. But, since Visual Composer is from a different author and if you wish to get direct support and updates from them, then you’ll have to buy a separate license.
The latest bundled Visual Composer is 4.9.2. And maybe you’re trying to update to higher version that is available from its author/developer.
