asnieckusParticipantHi,
I have created a second site on my multi-site network, and want to import the media files from another site. When I do so, I get the following error, for nearly all of the media to be imported (altho, one of the files imported successfully?!?):
Import WordPress
Failed to import Media “rlc-logo-enclosed-rgb”I successfully imported the media when I created the top-level domain in the multi-site network. This is the first subdomain I’ve tried it on. I tried deactivating all of the non-X-theme plugins, but the import still fails.
Thoughts on what might be causing this to fail?
Thanks,

Rue NelModeratorHello Alison,
Thanks for writing in! Thank you also the for the very detailed information. You have mentioned that you have a multisite network. And then in one of your sub domain, you have imported again the media. The error simply indicates that you cannot import the media files because it already exists in your WP install. WordPress with multi site set up only shares one single wp-uploads folder. This could be the reason why you were seeing the error. I don’t think it is a error really. It simply notifies you that the media files already exist in your uploads folder. I would recommend that you check the output of the content files. Just to be sure if the images attached to your post and pages doesn’t have any broken links.
And by the way, X 4.6.1 is now available in automatic updates! This release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog. Please do update to the latest version. After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.
Please let us know how it goes.

asnieckusParticipantHi,
Thanks for the explanation. I understand what you mean, that the images are already in wordpress. I looked around and didn’t find anything that would allow direct, via-library, use of the images in the other sites in the network. A number of them are featured images….so I’ll have to upload again. Yes, lots of broken links.
I don’t see how to update to X 4.6.1. The network page says X is up-to-date.
Thanks so much for the great support. Much appreciated :).
