wnhorne246ParticipantGood afternoon. I have the Facebook Comments plugin enabled on my wife’s blog posts and I’m having a couple of issues with it.
The URL for the site is http://www.emilycolin.com/blog/.
1st, the comments are working just fine, but when you check the box to “also posts to Facebook”, nothing is showing up on Facebook. I have a feeling I missed something here.
2nd, although the counts on the comments are correct on the posts pages themselves, they are not reporting these comments to the WordPress posts count system. This may be by design as I guess the comments are not really happening through WordPress? The issue is, I have Essential Grid setup on the Home page that supposed to show counts on the posts, but they are all showing zero. Is there a workaround?
Thanks

JadeModeratorHi there,
Please try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
Let us know how it goes.

wnhorne246ParticipantI always do this when I encounter an issue with any plugin.

RadModeratorHi there,
I think, the “also posts to Facebook” is more on the activity. It will display your post on your wall or feed. But still, it depends on your facebook and privacy settings.
Wordpress’s comment system is different from facebook comments. X theme is only customized to display comment count from facebook. Hence, you’ll not able to find it anywhere, but just on X theme where it is integrated.
Thanks!

wnhorne246ParticipantSounds good to me. I’ll just remove the counter from the Essential grids.

Kade McConvilleParticipantFaced the same issue with the grid’s comment count showing 0 despite having 2 comments on the post. Slightly disappointed with this 🙁

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
As what Rad has said in his reply;
“WordPress’s comment system is different from facebook comments. X theme is only customized to display comment count from facebook. Hence, you’ll not able to find it anywhere, but just on X theme where it is integrated.”This even applies to Twenty Fifteen or Twenty Sixteen theme. There is no way the number of comments from Facebook will be counted.
