    Hi guys,

I’m having a problem with main navigation link states (color).

    1) I’ve set up my client’s main page Vina Lisjak 1956 as a one page navigation and links were working ok with menu link paths > #section in my Menu pointing to certain section on the page.

    2) Then i added Envira gallery as a separate page and things started to become a bit more complicated, because navigation links need to return the user from gallery to certain section on main page. To achieve that I had to modify link paths in Menus to from #section to http://vinalisjak.si/#section
I noticed that because of path modification, the navigation hover states were working ok but failed to stay in active mode when selected. I was fine with it because for me it was important to have hover state changing link color when navigating the menu.

    3) After that i had to add Multilanguage support for english (EN) and italian (IT) language. I’ve managed to set up everything fine, the only problem was returning from external link to the Gallery again. I had to modify Menu link paths again to avoid visiting default language page upon return from the Gallery in selected language > http://vinalisjak.si/language/#section

After all that here is my problem:
    – all navigation links are in hover/active state now except for the Gallery navlink

The footer menu works fine (it returns to correct section of a correct language page and it has different hoover states).

I am really hoping there is a CSS or JS solution to this problem. I use same color for all navlink states now so it doesn’t look as if something is broken. Unfortunately it’s really weird having no hover states on main navigation (not user friendly).

    Thanks

    Hi there,

You need to create two menus.
One as primary and the other as one page navigation.

Inside one page navigation use relative URLs, e.g : #history

To link menu items from primary menu to one page sections, use absolute URLs, e.g : http://example.com/en/#history

    Hope it helps.

    Hi Christoper,

i created two menus for EN version of the site (Navigation_en & Navigation_en_onepage).

    1. what path should I enter in Navigation_en_onepage menu for Gallery (external page)?
    2. which Menu should I assign to EN page (primary or onepage)?
    3. how are the two menus connected and how can this solution make navlink hover work?

I have Navigation_EN_footer menu with onepage and absolute paths combined and it works flawlessly (hover effect and redirecting without any problems).

    Thanks

    Hi there,

    1. Is it multilingual? You should assign Navigation_en_onepage to your English version of the gallery, under Page settings section (eg. Admin > Pages > {EDIT SPECIFIC PAGE} > Page Settings).

    2. Should your EN page function as one page? Then you may assign the one-page menu, else, the primary one.

    3. You mean the primary and one-page navigation? They aren’t connected and you have to manually assign them. The hover will only work on navigation with relative ID (eg. #history instead of http://example.com/en/#history). Hence, use relative ID for one-page navigation and assign it to the page that supposed to function as one page, then assign another menu with absolute URL ID as primary.

The footer menu as no integration with sections ID, unlike the main navigation. And it doesn’t move just like the main navigation where active status is decided whether the navbar overlaps with the target section.

    Thanks!
