    Hi,

I installed a child theme, using the Ethos stack. When I inspect the code, nearly all the CSS is inside ethos.css .
Can you please tell me how to keep the original css, but be able to override some classes and/or id’s using a custom .css file?
There is a style.css in my child theme’s folder, but it seems this isn’t loading any changes I try.
Do I need to create an ethos.css in my child theme root folder?

    Thanks in advance,

    Nick

    Hi Nick,

No, you don’t have to create a different CSS file once you have installed and activated the child theme. You can just place your CSS codes in the child theme’s style.css. There could be some other reasons why the CSS style you have added in the child theme are not taking effect. It could be that the default CSS have higher order or precedence and are overriding what’s in the child theme. We could check this better if you provide us with the URL of your site.

    Thank you.
