    Hi,

Although I haven’t build this yet, I’m designing my site’s landing page from top to bottom of the page, as follows:

    1. Header: Nav bar displaying logo and Hamburger Menu
    2. Body:
    Title image
    Interactive World map
My portfolio (Galleries) split into countries (3 columns)
    5. Footer: Copyright, Social icons, Contact link to my contact page

Is the above layout achievable with Ethos 2?

How do I make my world map interactive but simply? I would load a world map image then I need to add clickable points for countries that connect back to that country’s gallery

If I add my images in 3 columns, will images be truncated on mobile devices or do they wrap down the device?

    Many thanks for your help!

    Hi There,

To achieve that in a simply way you will need to purchase a third party plugin.

It is possible to be done manually but that would be out of the scope of our support and fairly complicated.

I recommend you the plugin Cornerstone Image Map Pro

Let us know if you havve further questions or if you need different suggestions regarding this matter.

Thanks Joao for your quick response.

I’ve been doing a lot of Google research, which specifically states that the more plugins a site has, the slower the site is thus, penalised even more by Google ranking; and the more can go wrong with the site, so I’m reluctant to use another plugin.

I will do more research that shows this can be done through the Javascript file and CSS. If successful, do you think this would be a better way to go for Google than with a plugin?

    You missed my last question:
If I add my images in 3 columns, will images be truncated on mobile devices or do they wrap down the device?

    Thank you!

That’s a tricky question as scripts can slow your site too if implemented incorrectly. It is best to hire a consultant regarding this.

If by wrapping down you mean the images will shrink without cropping, yes. That is the behavior of images in a X.

    Thanks.

    Ok, that sounds expensive.
No, I meant do the images move down as the user scrolls down a mobile device or if I put the images in 3 columns/grid will the images be truncated because of this? Even though they’re in columns do the images move down the device?
I ask this question as in my wordpress.com site, I included images in columns and when viewed on a mobile device, the images are truncated. Images don’t drop down to the next line because of the column (container) they’re in.

    Hi,

Unfortunely I am not sure what you mean.

Usually the columns stack on top of each other on mobile, so yes, naturally if you put 3 images beside each other on mobile they wil stacked and not one beside the other.

On the other hand we can provide a css where your images will be side by side on mobile, but for proportional reasons you can images they will be quite small.

Regarding the plugins, yes that is true that more plugins you have your site tends to be heavier, but don“t take this as a rule that should govern your development, There are a lot of other ways to improve your website speed like, optimizing your images before uploading it (you can use tinypng.com for that) And it is not that critical to have a plugin on your website, of course if you add 40 plugins your site tend to be slower than if you have 10 plugins, but as I said I would not stick to that and let that stopping me to achieving something I can achieve trough a specific plugin.

    Hope that helps

    Hi There,

There is no WooCommerce built in in X. Both files are necessary, please do not change anything there.

    Thanks
