nillamaryParticipantHi,
I’ve made many changes in Customiser>Edit Global CSS in my Child theme. However, when I check this file in my Host, I note that the CSS hasn’t updated and the file’s date is still December 2nd, which is when I created the Child theme.
Any thoughts?

ChristopherModeratorHi there,
Adding CSS in customizer won’t update CSS codes in style.css file or vice versa. Please put all your code in customizer or style.css file and remove duplicated CSS blocks.
Thanks.

nillamaryParticipantThanks Christopher.
The CSS code I’ve added is in customizer only. The CSS code in the style.css file is default code that’s always been there as I haven’t added to this file.
What is best practise for X so that if my website crashes in the future I don’t lose this code?January 7, 2017 at 6:17 am #1320067
ChristopherModeratorHi there,
By default X has no custom code, so it should be added your site administrator(you or someone else). Since your child theme is active, your customization will be safe during update.
Hope it helps.

nillamaryParticipantThanks!
Initially, I loaded the Ethos 2 Demo to my Child theme as Standard and not Expanded. If I save my CSS code to a text editor, can I re-load the Demo theme in Expanded? I’m thinking this will be faster to create my site than in Standard as I’m coming across many hurdles. If I re-load the Expanded Demo, will it blow away my WooCommerce and Contact 7 form (and database) installs?January 7, 2017 at 7:08 pm #1320669
Rue NelModeratorHello There,
If you reload the standard or expanded demo content, your customizer settings will be changed according to that demo content. Unless you have a backup for the customizer settings, you can re import it back after reloading the demo content. Your css code in the child theme’s style.css file will not be affected. The custom css in the customizer might be changed. So before doing anything, please go to X Addons > Customizer Manager and export or download the XCS file. To know more about the customizer manager, please check it here: https://community.theme.co/kb/customizer-manager/
Hope this helps.

nillamaryParticipantHi, I might have a think about the re-load. However, I did read the info in your above link and did notice that I don’t have the ‘Customizer’ option (top-left) of my Admin Dashboard screen (see attached screenshot) as in the instructions. Where to I enable this option (would be faster to click this option)? I usually access Customizer by: Appearance>Customize>etc.
Thank you

JadeModeratorHi there,
The Customise option on the admin bar does not display in the admin section but you can access it in Appearance > Customise. It should be visible in the front page of the page.
Hope this helps.

nillamaryParticipantYep, know that and that’s what I’ve been doing. Thought there may have been a way to enable this option in the top bar. Thanks!
