I’m trying to build social media grid with Essential Grid. In order to do that, you have to adjust the settings for “Source – Base on” to Stream. That isn’t a visible option.
Is there a setting that turns that option on?
Would I have to buy an Essential Grid license?
Is my install all kinds of screwed up?Thanks for the help,

Regretfully, at this time I am not entirely certain what it is you would like to accomplish based on the information given in your post. If you wouldn’t mind providing us with a little more clarification on what it is you’re wanting to do (a link to a similar example site would be very helpful, or perhaps some screenshots), we’ll be happy to provide you with a response once we have a better understanding of the situation.

It’s an older site that I’m switching to X Theme. I just wanted to know if anyone knew if it was a premium only feature before I invested more time investigating conflicts. If I turn off any more plugins, the whole site will have to be reworked.

Make sure you are using the latest version of everything. And such option might depend on other settings like which content type you are displaying (Video, Featured image etc.). So let’s check the other settings from documentation as well.

I created a fresh WP install.
Deleted all plugin and themes except for 2016.
Installed X Theme (with Cornerstone).
Validated it.
Updated it.
Installed Essential Grid.
The option required for creating a Social Media based feed is still missing.See attached screenshot. You can compare that to the screenshot of the documentation in my 2nd post.
Does this require a license from Essential Grid or is this an error?
I’m having the exact same issue Joshua. Everything else in the plugin works as expected, there is just no “Stream” option when choosing the source as shown in their documentation.
Is it possible the Essential Grid plugin bundled with X is not the full plugin?
FOUND IT!
X Theme bundles an old version of Essential Grid… from August 2015.
Social Streams are only on the new version.
So a new question.
Is X theme going to upgrade their version of Essential Grid? If so, any idea when?
Ahhh you’re right.
It appears x-theme users could update within the 2.0 release, but not to 2.1. Would also love to know if there are any plans to include the new version with x-theme before I purchase a license.
Kind of the related to the issues identified here https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/essential-grid-2-1-x4-6/#post-1077944 regarding Woocommerce 2.6.x and X 4.6.0 & known problems with Essential Grid 2.0 – therefore needing 2.1.
Know the Themeco are already aware and on it, hopefully they may address with a minor version bump to include bug-fixed Essential Grid 2.1 🙂
