I am trying to make it so I have the most recent post large and then 3 of the next smaller underneath that. I have currently made 2 different grids, but not sure how to skip the most recent in the bottom section. Is there a way to do this? I have attached a picture to hopefully help explain what I am looking for.

You can use Offset option in the Recent Posts shortcode to skip the most recent in the bottom section for example:
[recent_posts count="2" orientation="horizontal"] [recent_posts count="2" orientation="horizontal" offset="2"]You can refer to the following link for further assistance http://demo.theme.co/integrity-1/shortcodes/recent-posts/
