How can I prevent a fresh install of X from adding the Essential Grid addon extension. I already have the paid Essential Grid plugin which has the support and update dashboard on it. After I installed X, the Essential Grid plugin now shows as a theme addon after which the support dashboard was removed.

The Slider Revolution addon showed as installed and active after the install since I already had a paid version installed beforehand. Fortunately there were no changes to that paid plugin’s support and update dashboard.

Thanks for writing in! Are you sure it is Essential Grid? Because I think theGrid plugin has the addons capability. I am doubtful with the Essential Grid. To know more how we have integrated and utilized these plugins within X, please check out our knowledge base here:

100% sure it’s Extended Grid by Themepunch. The problem is that I have paid for extended support for that premium plugin and have it already installed, but after installing X, the extension shows up as already installed and activated. Then when going to the plugin main dashboard, the paid support area is not shown. It says that this plugin was included with a theme and the product registration and support area is not seen. Per their website, “Since version 1.1.0 some authors deactivate the activation area part of Essential Grid through their theme.”

I’ve tried these steps to no avail. Is not there a way to install X without some of the plugin extensions? Because I’ve tried to deactivate the plugin, delete it completely, and then reinstall the plugin using the downloaded file I received from Code Canyon. But after that reinstall, the Registration activation is still missing with the plugin still saying that it came pre-installed with a theme. Something in the X functions file is causing the Essential Grid Registration section from being seen and I have read your explanation about bundled plugins. I just use the support capability for CSS variations and extra javascript coding for alternate grids.

Hi there,

Thanks for updating. Kindly add the following code to your Child Theme‘s functions.php :

function x_essential_grid_theme_setup() { }

Then try to validate the plugin with your purchase key.

Since I already had Slider Revolution (paid) activated, it showed as installed and activated after doing a new fresh install of X.

You are welcome Carol! I hope Revolution Slider is not preventing you to reach to Themepunch for support or disabling any dashboard. So you can leave this as is because you should not use the updates from themepunch rather should update from theme.co server to avoid any potential issue as we first make it compatible then push to update server.
