Hi,

I imported a bunch of my posts from Tumblr, and for some reason all of the photos in the post showed up as a “gallery” in corner stone.

So instead of 4 images, when i try to edit the post in cornerstone, it has the little arrows that make it a gallery.

Then when I try to use the post in Essential Grid, and i select first content image, or every single image option in essential grid, nothing shows up.

I tried converting the gallery post to a normal image post, but then the images in the post themselves don’t show up anymore.
Then I tried to add 4 of the same images to the post so see if that would get the image to show up in essential grid, but still nothing.

Can someone help me with this? Below is a sample post with the original gallery set up, but also the addition 4 photos that I tried to add.

Who Wore What is the page i loaded two essential grids on

The first grid is the one with the issue where the posts have “galleries” so they only load the default image instead of the actual images in the post.

The second grid is just to tests that grids actually work…and they do. So I just need to know how I get images to show up on the grid for the first one.

Hi there,

Images are normally pulled from featured images, it can be pulled from post meta or alternative image. It depends on the grid skin you have.

You should set featured images to your posts, example, http://skirttheceiling.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=546&action=edit this one has no featured image.

Yes that post was imported through tumblr. But how do i set something as a featured image? Also, i Know in essential grid i can set first content image as a source to pull from, but that doesn’t seem to work either.

Can you please advise?

Hi there,

Because there is nothing to pull, Essential Grid will pull featured image or custom URL set to its meta. And you don’t have any image here http://skirttheceiling.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=546&action=edit ( first content image ). What you have is [ gallery ], the criteria of pulling an image is <img>. Please note that all shortcodes are only generated to its final render when it’s displayed in the front. Hence, the essential grid is seeing it as [ gallery ] and not images.

And your import process should also set featured image, if it’s a plugin, then you should contact its author.

Okay so question, my post that you linked to as a [gallery] tag. where do the images in the gallery sit and how would I access them? Is there a way to convert a [gallery] into a bunch of images instead?

Hi,

So i see where the screen can be for visual editing, but how do I then convert the gallery into just images from there. Or how do I set a feature image there?

Also, for the other posts, I dont actually see a way to get to the edit screen.

Hi there,

There is no tool that can directly change gallery back to standard images. You’ll have to manually insert them, or just set featured image. You can set featured image by finding Featured Image section in your post and set it there. It’s always on the bottom of the right sidebar. Then simply set your essential grid media source to featured image instead of first content image.
