JaChVeParticipantHello
As the topic title states, I am having difficulty with the Envira add ons. I stated my question on themeforest as well but the issue was not solved there so I will try my luck here. Here is a copy paste from my inquiry.
Dear Sir or Madam, I bought your theme a couple of hours ago and currently I am trying to work my way around things. Unfortunately I have run into a problem where the Envira Gallery add ons are not activated so I cannot install them. They are listed as upgrade instead. How would I work this bit out? Tried doing some searches on this part but was unable to locate any definite answer. Have yet to find any ticket submission section so I will give it a go here.
Hope someone can help shed some light onto whatever might cause this hick-up.
Thank you

ChristopherModeratorHi there,
Envira gallery is an integrated plugin in X and you don’t need to activate it, it works as long as x is active.
Current version of X supports Envira Gallery v1.5.0.6. If you want to use premium features such as addons you should purchase plugin license separately.Thanks.

JaChVeParticipanthttp://demo.theme.co/envira-gallery/ – Every purchase of X includes ALL Extensions (plus updates) for FREE!
Buy TodayI used Avada and switched to X theme with this statement weighing very heavily as I did not want to stress with portfolios. All over the place it seems stated you only need to activate the add ons as they are a part of the package. All of a sudden, the add ons require upgrade the way it seems now, so obviously there is one serious discrepency at hand. Are you telling me I will have to purchase the add ons despite the statement above made by Themeco?

JoaoModeratorHi There,
I believe there is a miss understanding.
ALL Bundled plugins that comes with X do not need to be activated with a purchase code, they often will ask you to validate it, this is the way the plugins are designed to behave, but it is 100% unecessary to validate it and you will get all the updates for free.
Often our version updates run a bit later than the update of the plugin developer, we always test it for possible conflicts once the new versions are released and this can take a bit of time, that happens to ensure the plugins will work 100% with X.
You can follow the latest version of every plugin on our changelog:
If you believe you are facing a different issue from what I have described please provide us more details in order that we can help you.
Thanks
Joao

JaChVeParticipantI have tried making a gallery with tag filter based on http://enviragallery.com/docs/creating-first-envira-gallery/ , http://enviragallery.com/docs/how-to-filter-by-envira-tags-in-wordpress-insert-media-view/ and http://enviragallery.com/addons/tags-addon/ . But it is a bit difficult as the tag tab does not appear in my gallery setup section. It might certainly be that I am doing something wrong but if all add ons should work automatically without activation or upgrade, the tag tab should appear when setting up a new gallery but as of now, it does not.

JoaoModeratorHi There,
Sorry for the confusion.
Envira Gallery will be upgraded automatically but the Addons are not included in the package.
In order to use Tags Addon you will need to purchase an Envira Gallery license.
If you would like to use a tag filter on your portofolio I Would reccomend using X Portfolio.
Please have a look on this link to see how it works:
You also can find more information here : https://community.theme.co/kb/portfolios/
Let us know if you need help with anything else.

eveallParticipantHey @JaChVe, what did you end up doing? I’m in the same boat as you. I much prefer the Envira tag feature as it’s all about the photos for me, not the words behind the “project.” Did you upgrade Envira? Is it working well? Or did you stick with the X-portfolio and just create a whole bunch of pages?
