LinthoniaParticipantI need to troubleshoot what seems to be a caching problem or something with users loging in. A user can sign up no problem, but after being logged out, the login-page won’t load again unless he clears his cookies. The problem seems to have to do with the 5 empty lines shown in my source code (see attached file). Why is that happening? That doesn’t seem right.
I disabled all the other plugins, only x-theme was running, and the empty lines in the source code and the problem was still there. Activating another theme makes the problem disappear. Could you look into it?
url of my site:
wordpress 4.6.2
x-theme: 4.6.4
cornerstone: 1.3.3January 17, 2017 at 12:06 am #1333073

RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for writing back. I have tested your site by login and logout and couldn’t face any unusual cookies issue. Here is the login page after logout – http://prntscr.com/dwtbli which loads fine and letting me login again.
Cheers!

LinthoniaParticipantThere is no problem to sign in or log out from the wordpress login page. But the empty lines in the source code seems to cause problems with the login and registering page that my plugin uses. The plugin works with for example the Twenty Sixteen theme, then those 5 empty lines don’t show.
Please try to use the login box on the bottom of the homepage, http://dev.thassosgreece.com
Login with your credentials, and then log out.
If you now try to register or click “forgot password”, nothing happens, as the cache makes it seem that you are still logged in. Clearing cache and cookies makes it possible. After trouble shooting the issue a bit, disabling various plugins etc, the issue seems to stem from the 5 empty lines in the source code. This is something the x-theme does, since they disappear only when another theme is activated.
Could you please look into it, and explain why those lines are there?

FriechModeratorHi There,
I did follow your instruction above but did not encounter the issue, the site redirects me to forgot password or register form when I click its respective link.
I did see a lot of site with those 5 empty lines, but not much with this issue. Perhaps this is specific to your setup. Can you try using another browser?
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks.

LinthoniaParticipantI don’t know if gave clear enough instructions. I can’t see how it would work for you. I have tried in both Safari and Firefox, but with the same problem. When I thought it might be a problem with the plugin, the developers of the plugin also encountered the same problem and helped to narrow it down to those empty lines.
1. Register or log in using the “My Dashboard” login-box at the bottom of the page (http://dev.thassosgreece.com)
2. Then press Log Out in that same dashboard.
3. Click “New User? Register now” or “Forgot password?”.Here what should happen is that a page called “gd-login” is shown, making it possible to register or ask for a new password. But the problem, if I have previously been logged in, is that it just redirects and reloads the homepage. It won’t load the proper page UNLESS I clear my cache, something a user ordinarily wouldn’t do, of course. Do you mean that you are able to make it work no problem, without clearing the cache?
And sorry that I didn’t understand what you wrote about the 5 empty lines. Is that supposed to be normal? You’ve seen a lot of sites like that?

LinthoniaParticipantThanks for your patience and for sharing that video. Now I see why it worked for you. Try doing all steps with the login box.
You signed in using the box.
Also log out using the box.
And click the register/forgot password using the links in the box – NOT the default wordpress login page.
Does it still work?January 18, 2017 at 2:43 am #1334706
Paul RModeratorHi,
It sounds like you might be having an issue with a third party plugin(GeoDirectory). Regretfully, we cannot provide support for third party plugins or scripts as our support policy in the sidebar states due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not native to X will need to be directed to the original developer.
Thank you for your understanding.
