Is there anyway to get embeds from youtube,instagram,pinterest etc to show up in post excerpts? (please say yes)

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in! Excerpt text supposed to be plain text and it doesn’t support any markup or shortcodes unfortunately. It’s controlled by WordPress so we can’t say yes and I regret for that.

Sounds like a good feature to add to the theme 👍

So I imagine if I selected to show the full body of posts, embeds would show up on the front page?

So is there any way to have all posts default to excerpts but select individual posts to show the full body of the post?

I know excerpts will be shown if I don’t want the full posts displayed.

Yes, it will. Excerpt couldn’t display embedded codes.

No, this option is not available. Regretfully this isn’t a feature offered by X. It could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. You may wish to consult a developer to assist you with this. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities. Thanks for understanding. Take care!
