Brianne HParticipantHello,
I’m using the Integrity 1 theme and I have an ebmedded video (iframe code generated through Wistia) that will not play all the way through. It plays all the way through in Chrome and Safari, just not IE10.URL: Stream.Brandwise.com
Video about half way through the page.It seems to stop around 0:36.
Also, the header log looks poor quality in IE10. Looks great in Chrome and Safari.
Thanks for your help!

AlexanderKeymasterHi Brianne,
This seems to be an issue with Wistia’s player.
Can you try a quick test?
– Deactivate all plugins.
– Temporarily switching to the TwentyFourteen themeIf the issue persists, it’s likely that Wistia’s player is having issues, and you may want to contact them.
If it’s working, try switching back to X Theme, but leave 3rd party plugins deactivated. If it’s still working, we’ll have narrowed it down to a plugin conflict. You can activate plugins back one at a time to further narrow this down.
This testing will help us get an idea of what’s going on. Let us know how it goes

Brianne HParticipantHello, I switched to twentyfourteen and the video played fine. I switched back to X and kept the plubins de-activated and the now the video doesn’t even show up.
I’m also seeing issues in IE10(ish) of black boxes around text appearing, the header logo looking pixelated, etc.
For now i’ve re-activeated the plugins.
How can I get this site working in IE10? I know a lot of our users use IE.

Brianne HParticipantI’m also noticing after activating all plugins that the video is no long showing, the times icon in the pricing table are not showing, a black box around the rev slider text is appearing and the arrow icons in the rev slider are missing – it just shows orange boxes. ick!

AlexanderKeymasterHi Brianne,
Thanks for doing the compatibility testing. I’ve looked into this some more, and I’m still not sure why this would be happening.
Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password

AlexanderKeymasterHi Brianne,
Thanks for sharing this. I’m not sure how, but yesterday it was stopped for me at 31 seconds, but now it’s playing all the way through. I haven’t changed anything.
Are you still having this issue? Has anything changed on your end?
I did duplicate the home page called “Video Test” to try some things. But everything behaved the same – the video plays through.
I’m testing in IE10 (Windows 8)

Brianne HParticipantNo, I have not changed anything.
From the testing i’ve done, I see the IE compatibility mode as a major factor. Do you think any of the wordpress plugins such as the HTML5Shiv or other compatibility plugins will help. I’m feeling unsure due to the inconsistency with IE.
Also testing in windows 8 with IE 10 as well as IE 11.

AlexanderKeymasterHi Brianne,
HTML5Shiv was more meant for older browsers like IE6 and 7. IE10 supports HTML5.
Can you try one more test? Try removing the revolution slider from that page, and see if it plays properly. It might be a conflict with the script from that plugin. If this makes a difference, perhaps we can explore alternatives.
April 7, 2014 at 10:21 am #30621
Brianne HParticipantBingo! Removed the slider and cleared my cache, the video now plays all the way though.
Next steps?
I really appreciate all your help with this!
April 8, 2014 at 9:28 am #31080
AlexanderKeymasterI feared that may have been the case. Although I’m glad we narrowed down the problem! We’ve had a handful of browser compatibility issues show up in X due to Revolution Slider. Unfortunately this is something that we have no control over, and need to wait until they release a bug fix.
X does come with an alternate slider. For now you could try using this instead. At least just on the page with the video.
You can find out about it here: http://theme.co/x/demo/integrity/1/shortcodes/responsive-slider/
I’d recommend using it with “no container”

Brianne HParticipantThanks for all the help on this! I actually submitted a ticket to themepunch and they gave me the latest version of the plugin 4.3.4. Installing this fixed the issue. Perhaps you should recommend this version to other people experiencing similar issues. hope it helps them, too!
Cheers,
