Hi,

I’m having some trouble figuring out why the shortcode I’m using isn’t functioning the way I assume it should. I want to only display the blog posts from the specified category.

The shortcode (taken from http://demo.theme.co/integrity-1/shortcodes/recent-posts/):

[recent_posts category="resources"]

as well as

[recent_posts category="cat14"]

seem to display all posts no matter what I’ve tried.

And as you can see here, the category itself is alive and well. But I’m trying not to use this URL because of the inclusion of “category/” in the link: http://globalprogressivehub.org/category/resources/

Am I doing something wrong?

Hello Ali,

Upon checking, this page:http://globalprogressivehub.org/resources/ is set to be your blog index page. Blog index page content is controlled by a template. But then as you said above it is a normal page where you add recent posts shortcode. There’s must be a conflict on your settings. Please provide your admin credentials on a private reply so we can check.

Based on your previous suggestion I believe I was able to solve the issue, but please feel free to check.

For anyone whoever into this issue:

I was able to solve it by unselecting the page as the Posts page under WordPress’s Settings > Reading. I also had to change the template on the page settings itself from Portfolio to Default.
