    Hey themeco team!

    I would like to have the blog post shortcode returning the post excerpt.
    I have been going over quite a few of the other posts here and I havn’t been able to get the post excerpts to appear.

    I started with this post here and also followed this post as well.

    I have a child theme created and I have added the additional function to the function.php.
    I havn’t been having very much luck yet. Is there something that I am doing wrong?

    Hello There,

    Thanks for providing the information. I have checked the code and it should have work. Further investigation shows that the child theme is not active. This is why the code did not take effect. Please activate the child theme first and test your site again.
