    Hi
We have a live site but wish to develop a newer version on our development server. I have read API switching but that would mean one of the sites not being licensed. How do we use a fully functioning (with all extensions etc) site while the current site stays live?
Once the development site is agreed we would then move it to the live server.
    Many thanks

    Hi there,

You can validate both main and development sites with one purchase code. Please review the changes that we made on how you are going to validated your X theme because we made a big change in the process. Please check it out here: https://community.theme.co/kb/product-validation/

    Hope it helps.

    Hey There,

    Thanks for writing back!

We’ve changed the validation process. You don’t need to have an API Key to validate your site, instead you can use your Purchase code :

    https://community.theme.co/kb/product-validation/

Make sure you are fully updated with your theme and plugins and try validating it with the Purchase code. For more information, you can walk-through proper guidelines given below :

    https://community.theme.co/kb/updating-your-theme-and-plugins/

    Hope this helps!

Ok can I validate the development site first? The last time I tried to update X everything went wrong on the site. What Id like is to have the development site working and then do the transfer/update to the live server.
    Is that possible?
    Thanks

    Hey There,

    Thanks for writing back!

Yes, you can validate the development site first with the Purchase code. Once you are done with transferring it to a live site, you can unassign the licence from that site and can re-assign it back to the live site with the same purchase code. You can try out the following guideline for the same :

    Hope this helps!
