martian7ParticipantHello,
I bought the theme and installed and activated. I clicked to import the restaurant demo. But nothing has happened.
This is Godaddy WordPress hosting, FYI. How can i get the restaurant theme installed. I didnt see an XML for that theme, do I need to import the “x-demo-content.xml’?
Thanks!

JoaoModeratorHi
You should be able to Access Wp Admin Dashboard > Addons > Select the demo and install it.
If that does not work, would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password
– FTP credentialsDon’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.
Thanks
Joao

DarshanaModeratorHi there,
It seems that your issue is specific to GoDaddy Managed WordPress as you can see this recent thread (https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/were-sorry-the-demo-failed-to-finish-importing-13/).
Also you have PHP cURL library installed on your server and running PHP v5.6.27 which is great. Can you check with your hosting provider to see whether if there’s any firewall rule blocking the connection. Also they can check your error logs to find any other information.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!December 10, 2016 at 1:05 pm #1288438
martian7ParticipantHello,
So I will try to get Godaddy to help, they usually are pretty rigid about their WordPress hosting.
If I cant get them to help… is this issue only with the demo import or am I going to run into other issues if I try to recreate the restaurant theme using the layout customizer as well?
Thanks.

RadModeratorHi there,
It’s because of this issue “Invalid demo name.”, there some similar issues and it’s fixed by disabling the cache plugin and cleaning transients. But you can’t do that in Godaddy Managed WordPress hosting.
The import is initializing correctly and already start downloading images, but in the middle, it throws that error. If demo name is really invalid, then it shouldn’t initialize or download images in the first place, because demo name is a unique identification of demo package.
Maybe you could setup a WordPress installation in your local machine and import demo there, then just migrate it to your Godaddy hosting.
Thanks!

martian7ParticipantOK, importing the demo is not that important than, will i still have issues using this theme though on Godaddy Hosting? or is it just with the import?

RadModeratorHi there,
I think it’s not just the import that can be affected based on my personal experience in Godaddy. I’m not saying it’s always like that, but it’s random. You could always test it on your local machine (eg. WAMP or XAMMP) then just migrate it to your live hosting.
Thanks!

martian7ParticipantOK, I have WAMP and a test wordpress installed and its saying I need to authenticate, but I already authenticated for this website, but not the WAMP theme install…
Do I have to buy another license for my WAMP local theme work?

Paul RModeratorHi,
No need to buy another license, you can add it as a development environment.
Kindly refer to the link below.
