Wonder if you can help?

Would really appreciate it if you could take a look at the site and advise me as to which demo i could use to imitate the key elements of their site design?

I am currently using the Integrity demo 2. Link here: http://www.maxsgarage.co.uk

Pls can you suggest to me – out of all the X theme demo’s which is the one best suited to re-create the key parts of the dark website? i realize it wont be the same but which of the demo content comes the closest to it?

Hi Ayesha,

This could be done with any stack but you need some custom CSS. Let’s apply semitransparent background to the container/sections while using and image as site background.

Thank you for your response – but i’m not too sure what you mean by:

1. Custom CSS? is this something you will help me with to achieve the desired effect?

2. Whats meant by ‘semitransparent background to the container’ do you have any visuals that can help me understand?

3. By ‘image as site background’ do you mean a slider? how do I set that up?

Pls can you elaborate?

Hi Ayesha,

I am explaining a bit more.

#1. You can add Custom CSS under Custom > CSS in the Customizer.

#2. Semitransparent background would be like this :

background: rgba(0,0,0, .5)

Here first 3 values are RGB color (black) and the 4th one is opacity level.

#3. You can set as image background body background or section background; then add semitransparent background (as mentioned in #2) for the ROW/Column.

It would be a bit work with custom CSS so if you are not comfortable with CSS, you can seek help from a developer.

Hi there,

You can set your background image at Admin > Appearance > Customizer > Layout and Design. Choose background image and not a background pattern.

About the body text color and background color, is it global or just specific to page? This is because there are many types of template and layout. If you just wish to set it on specific page, then just utilize the blank template with transparent sections, and white texts.

I don’t see an option to have the background image fixed? i’d like to set it at 1500X800?

I would like to set all the content area to transparent? throughout the site?

Also, is it possible to include a video as background? pls can you see the link here:

Hi Ayesha,

Thanks for writing back. You didn’t set background image yet so can’t check. 1500X800 should be okay although something like 1920×1080 would be better for large screen as well.

And you need to add transparency to all section but you are using parallax and image background somewhere in some sections so it won’t work as expected. In that you need to decide what you really want and plan for that. Regretfully, this particular customization request is outside the scope of our support as this is not related to an issue with the theme and instead has to do with your customization of it. As such, you will need to investigate this particular issue on your own or seek help from a developer should you not feel comfortable making these changes yourself. If you have any further questions about the theme, we are more than happy to provide you with assistance on these inquiries.

Hi Ayesha,

Thanks for writing back. Not particularly that rather the other things I have pointed out. I can just point out so can you can get started as I did above. But couldn’t provide more tailored solution since lot of issues needs to be taken care of and they are basic (i.e. setting image backgrounds, transparent background for sections to match them.).

And you can set video background to each section. For fullscreen video background, you can use revolution slider.

Hi there,

Thanks for updating the thread! The video in this link: https://www.amsterdam-dance-event.nl is setup as a YouTube video embed via an iframe.

There are a number of ways to get a video background, using rev slider is one of them. If you are using Cornerstone, you can also add a video background via YouTube, Vimeo or self hosted using the background options in the “Section” element’s inspector panel.

O fab! Thank you – your all so helpful. I was thinking of buying another license for a different site and was in two minds about it but I think I will go ahead and do that now as the support here is really great.
