Hello! I’m having issues with the Customzier– I can’t save changes!

When I click “Save & Publish”, it just spins for a few seconds. The “Save & Publish” button doesn’t change to “Saved” and if I leave the customizer, I get the warning about changes not being saved. If I leave, sure enough, changes aren’t saved.

And I’ve tried a bunch of fixes there that don’t seem to help. In fact, changing this line in my wp-config:

define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '64MB');

To:

define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256MB');

ended up giving my site a fatal error. I also tried the Export/Reset trick, but that didn’t work (before or after importing the .json file).

Any ideas? I’ll follow up with a private message with site deets.

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in! Try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Hi there,

Memory exhausted means that you’re running out of the memory that has been allocated to your account. Even though you’re trying to increase your memory by using the above code (#1035876), some hosts doesn’t allow users to increase it manually.

Please contact your hosting provider and ask them to increase it or you will need to upgrade your hosting plan.
