    Hello!

I’m the webmaster at http://www.TheMAMAs.org, and we’ve been using the x theme for a while now. Recently, the person who hosts the server had to move it to a different IP address. Our DNS “A” records were updated from the old IP to the new IP, but the address, etc. all stayed the same.

The site appeared to be working, but I noticed something curious – changes made with Cornerstone or the Customizer will not save. In customizer, I will click “save”, but the button will go back to the “save and publish” mode. In cornerstone, I click save and it says one of the catch phrases, but it will warn me that I haven’t saved anything when I try to leave. and upon leaving, all changes will be lost.

Editing/creating pages inside of wordpress works just fine, and cornerstone code works – I just can’t use the customizer or conerstone editor. I’ve tried removing the theme and re-uploading, but that didn’t do the trick.

Is this a theme issue? Database issue? If so, how do I resolve it?

    Thanks!

    -Ty

    Forgot to mention – X Theme 4.6.1, cornerstone 1.3.2

More info: new server’s PHP version is PHP 5.6.26. The old server used PHP 5.4.39. Not sure if it has anything to do with that, but just including as much info as I can.

    Hi there,

Thanks for writing in! Were there any changes to the site URL ? Using PHP 5.6.0 or above would be a plus.

Could you please try to install and run Transient Cleaner (https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/artiss-transient-cleaner/).

    1. Install Transient Cleaner
    2. Navigate Dashboard -> Tools -> Transients
    3. Clear Expired Transients Section
    4. Clean Now -> Check “Remove all expired transients”
    5. Remove All Transients Section
    6. Enable -> Check “Remove all transients when a database upgrade occurs”
    7. Optimize Afterwards -> Check “Optimize table(s) afterward the housekeeping”
    8. Clean Now -> Check “Remove all transients”
    9. Save Changes
    10. Recheck your site for functionality

Let us know how it goes.
    Thanks!

No changes to the site URL, and the person who did the migration used the built-in CPanel database migration tool. He said there were no errors.

Unfortunately, even after the transient cleaner, I’m still seeing the same issues in customizer AND cornerstone. Any other thoughts?

    Hi There,

It seems deactivating the WP Super Cache plugin resolve the issue. Please clear any cache remains on your site, or try reinstalling that plugin. It might be corrupted.

Let us know how it goes.

    Cheers!
