AlexParticipantHello,
I’m trying to create a custom portfolio for my writer’s site. So my portfolio will consist of my books, each portfolio item is a book page.
But when using portfolio template, I see that there’s elements I would like to omit (like social sharing, etc.).
Basically, I just want to create a custom portfolio and put there custom pages for my books. Create custom categories for this portfolio. And I would like to showcase them via Grid plugin.
Is it possible to do?
Thanks.

ChristianModeratorHey Alex,
Regretfully this isn’t a feature offered by X. It could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. You might want to contact our trusted partners who caters X setup and customization needs. Please see https://community.theme.co/custom-development/. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities. Thanks for understanding. Take care!

AlexParticipantHello again Christian,
Thanks for the response and I understand that for custom development of some features I would need to hire a developer.
But I think that maybe I wasn’t clear enough and you didn’t understand what I’m trying to achieve.
I just looked at your The Grid KB article and found this paragraph that perfectly explains what I’m trying to do with X:
—
Custom post pages. Use The Grid’s custom post type feature to show posts from selected categories or with selected tags on different pages, perfect to have a page per category or per taxonomy (category/tag).
—So as you’re writing about it in your KB, I thought that it can be achieved pretty easily, no custom development included. Am I wrong?
It is also mentioned that The Grid allows to use custom taxonomy and the categories inside it. I think that’s what I need, just to add a custom taxonomy to be able to create custom Grid based pages, as it is stated in the KB.
Can you give me a hint if it’s possible and I understand it correctly?
Thanks.

LelyModeratorHello Alex,
Thank you for the clarification.
To use custom post type on The Grid, please click Source Tab > Post Types : Choose Portfolio : Under Categories > Choose Portfolio Categories. See attached screenshot.Hope this helps.
