    Hi,

    I can see a ?ver=4.6.0 is appended on my CSS stylesheets. Is the theme adding this?

    How can I increment this number manually?

    Hi there,

    Thanks for posting in.

    It’s theme version, and it’s normal for Theme and WordPress to include versions. Why would you like to increment it? You’ll be editing the core files if you do that and it’s not recommended.

    Hi,

    I am using MaxCDN and the files are not purging correctly. If I increase the version manually when i make changes to my child theme style.css, then the file will be fetched correctly.

    Can I only change that in the child theme?

    Hey there,

    Removing or incrementing the version from the URL or query string could not be done in the CSS as that is part of WordPress style and script enqueueing function which is used by themes and plugins. You will need a plugin to achieve that such as https://wordpress.org/plugins/remove-query-strings-from-static-resources/ or a custom developed function. Please take note though that since this involves website optimization and third party plugins, any issue arising from this falls outside the scope of our support.
