RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for writing in! I’ll try to answer your questions point by point. As you are considering this as business so you need to be updated and keep your Child Theme updated. As you are building Child Theme on top of X so you might need to keep track with X. If anything changes regarding Child Theme, we’ll notify through our Changelog so you can just follow this to update your Child Theme if needed. We do care about this because many of our users using Child Theme for out of the box customization and and we will make sure they don’t face any major issue. And X is maintained and updated regularly as it’s one of the best theme on Envato and there is no point of being worry about any “crazy reason” I believe.
#1. Note that Child Theme, Customizer and Cornerstone all of them are different functionality. There is simply no way to download a Child Theme with all Cornerstone or Customizer Settings. You can download your Child Theme, download the Cornerstone pages as Cornerstone templates and export the Customizer settings from Customizer Manager from X Addons menu.
#2. Not quite sure what you are referring but to use your Child Theme, users need to use X theme as well. You can sell your Child Theme as it contains your code but a separate license of X should be purchased to use this if you want to use X to use the Child Theme. You can sell your Child Theme but not X as we only sell this through Envato and we must follow their rules and licensing terms.
#3. Since the user needs a separate license of X so they can directly reach to our support. We’ll provide support for them if we find any issue regarding X or Cornerstone. If the issue is related with Child Theme, then you need to fix this as it’s your business and we won’t provide support for custom code on Child Theme.
#4. To bundle Cornerstone with a theme, you need to purchase the extended license from CodeCanyon. If you need our assistance to integrate Cornerstone to your theme, definitely contact us, we’ll be happy to assist you and that’s what exactly mentioned on the CodeCanyon.
Your Child Theme won’t break with the update of X as we always follow the legacy. If any major changes occur, we’ll mention this on our Changelog with proper guideline so that you could fix this. And mostly Child Theme contains custom codes that reside within Child Theme’s files so you should not face any issue about portability. You can just take a copy of your Child Theme folder to export it. That’s it!
Hope this explains everything. Let us know if you have any other concern.
Cheers!
