venyaParticipantHello,
I have a problem that I cannot edit my homepage in cornerstone, nor can I set a different homepage in settings.
Problem started when I tried to import a Agency Demo cornerstone block from a dummy site I created just to utilize parts of the demo layout. It seemed to have tried to import the entire page, rather than block (which was fine), but it inserted itself into a single row, crashing the page. I thought I exited without saving but apparently not.
I was just beginning to build my homepage so wasn’t concerned about loosing my work. I switched my homepage to the normal edit mode just to be able to edit it at all, since cornerstone wouldn’t load (it would just take me to home page.)
I created a new version of my home page and wanted to replace it with the original homepage in WP settings. It’s doesn’t accept the new page (home-v2) when I hit save…
1. How can I replace the old home with home-v2?
2. Did I export/import incorrectly or could this be some kind of bug?
3. Was I even correct in thinking that I could use a particular block from a cornerstone page I like and export/import to elsewhere, even if it’s a different domain? What I tried to export was the Agency Services Block.
4. On another note, small problem with custom 404. For some reason the breadcrumb reads “Liberty1” instead of the page title. Can I fix this?
Thank you very much!

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for the very detailed information. Before anything else, you could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
Since you have installed a caching plugin WordFence, please clear your plugin cache before testing your site. This can cause the changes to not take place on the front end. It will eventually show up when the cache regenerates, but it’s not ideal if you’re looking to see your changes immediately. Caching plugins are best to turn on only when you’ve finished building the site.
And also you are using CloudFlare. The Cornerstone builder takes place on the front end, so sometimes Cloudfare tries to cache its resources. This can cause stale data to be loaded. To resolve this, you’ll need to disable Cloudfare when the builder is in use. This won’t effect front end performance at all.
1. Log into CloudFlare and navigate to “Page Rules”
2. Add a new rule using this URL pattern: *.example.com/*?cornerstone=1
3. Under custom caching, enable “Bypass cache”
4. Turn Performance “Off”If you’re still having issues editing a page, you may need to login to Cloudfare again and purge the cache.
It would be best that you disable first those plugins that are not yet required while you are creating your pages. These performance plugin would be more advisable to be activated when you have launch your fully developed site.
Please let us know how it goes.

venyaParticipantHi,
Thanks for your detailed response.I tried deactivating all plugins, no change. Changed cache settings per your suggestion.
I can edit cornerstone pages fine, just not my original home page. I would like to abandon my old home page and instead set home-v2 to be my home page. In SETTINGS READING, it won’t let me do it. After click safe it reverts back another home page (set it on About, for the time being.
Other small problem was with custom 404. For some reason the breadcrumb reads “Liberty1” instead of the page title. Can I fix this?
Thank you.

LelyModeratorHi There,
Is this your original homepage:http://www.bennyfromtheblock.com/home-2. I did check and it is loading fine on Cornerstone. See this:http://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cDeQft1Djs
The following error will show when you choose Home V2 on Settings > Reading:
The chosen static front page must be translated in all languages. We need to check some settings on the language since you’re using Polylang plugin.Could you check in the getting started “7 – DEFINE YOUR HOME PAGE AS A STATIC PAGE” on the page 11 of this documentation.
http://plugins.svn.wordpress.org/polylang/doc/polylang-getting-started.pdf
Can you please check first for any plugin conflict about the 404 page issue? I can’t duplicate the issue on my test site. This might be specific to your setup. We need to check where it is coming from.
Hope this helps.

venyaParticipantHello,
The problem with settings not accepting a different static page was indeed because a page did not exist for second language.
Added one, and was able to change my page.
Thanks!I have identified the EasyGooglefonts as the plugin that changes the 404 breadcrumb in error….
There was a option to label the “control name”. That’s where the title “libery1”. I was going to ask for help on how to fix this, but I went ahead and renamed the control name to “404 – Page Not Found” and it resolved the issue. I didn’ts see the control name manifesting anywhere else on the site, so hope I’ll be ok.Just thought you should be aware of this issue…
Thanks again for the help…
