Juhani JParticipantHELP!
I’ve just upgraded my site to the latest version of X Theme from 4.4.2 to 4.5.2 and now the back-end of the cornerstone built landing page is empty and thus I cannot edit it, though the front-end page itself is up and running fine. I’ve got another site as well that needs to be updated but now I don’t dare to do that any longer. Could you please fix that and bring my building blocks back?
J.

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thank you for the very detailed information. I’ve increased your PHP memory limit by editing the wp-config.php and inserted these lines:
define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M' ); define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '512M' );You can add it before the line
/*That's all, stop editing! Happy Blogging. */I’ve also created a test page to test Cornerstone if it works. So far, I did not encounter any issue. The only thing I noticed is that it seems your homepage were edited outside of Cornerstone. Could you please test again by creating a new page?
Please let us know how it goes.

Juhani JParticipantI’m sorry but you are misinterpreting the issue here. The problem is that my Cornerstone editable page is missing. I mean the content is still there in a code form but the link to the Cornerstone builder must have been broken during the update process and I would like you to restore it. It has definitely NOT been edited outside of Cornerstone. Rebuilding the page is not an option.
PS. If you take the liberty to turn off all my plugins please turn them back on when you’re finished, otherwise my site stops functioning properly. Just saying…

ChristianModeratorHey Juhani,
This is weird as updating X and Cornerstone won’t delete or corrupt Cornerstone meta data in any way. Before updating, did you migrate your site from old to new server or changed domain?
Thanks.
June 30, 2016 at 7:23 am #1066591
Juhani JParticipantIndeed I did. I built the page mostly in localhost and then migrated to a live server, but almost certain I edited the page in cornerstone once it was already up and running.

ChristianModeratorWould it be possible for you to repeat the migration process using the method outlined at https://community.theme.co/kb/cornerstone-migration/? Cornerstone requires proper migration procedure so the post meta data must not be left out as that is where Cornerstone data is stored.
Otherwise, there is no other method but to rebuild as we don’t have any data.
Thanks.

Juhani JParticipantI managed to update the other site without braking any cornerstone pages so I’m not sure what the real issue was but it couldn’t have been the update. I’m also not convinced it was something to do with migration because I used the same method to migrate the other site, which did survive the process just fine.
In any case, I did end up rebuilding the homepage somewhat, but it was fairly painless because I could retrieve a slightly out of date version of it from my localhost copy that I luckily hadn’t had a chance to delete from my machine. All good now.

RadModeratorGlad to hear that! Yes migration could damage serialized data especially if it fails in transfer or strings replacement. Thanks!
