Frank19ParticipantI’m testing ConvertPlug (integrated with Mailchimp) and my tests are showing that it works fine if the person is not already on our email list. However, if the person is already subscribed to our email list they get a confusing message that says “THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH YOUR REQUEST. Administrator has been notified already.”
How can I change that message? It should simply say that the user is already subscribed.
Thanks

RupokMemberHi there,
Can you point us the form with exact URL. Also would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password
– FTP credentialsDon’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.

RupokMemberHi Frank,
It seems there is an option for “Failed Submission” but not for the duplicate submission. I can try to change the message with a bit JS if you want. But to do this, I need to replicate the message on my end. Can you give me an email address that’s already on the list? And point us where you have used the newsletter modal. I didn’t see that on your home page.
Thanks!

LelyModeratorHello Frank,
Thank you for the information. I saw the issue, it seems that this is by design. Using the same email causes the submission to fail, but the error response doesn’t mention or clear about it. I have forwarded this issue for some investigation with the plugin developer. We will let you know once we have an update.

Frank19ParticipantThank you for forwarding along. It does certainly seem like a sloppy design oversight. There should be two “error” messages. One for when the form is not completed correctly and a separate message for when the person is already subscribed to the list.

LelyModeratorHi Frank,
Yes, I have added that information on the details of the issue.
You’re always welcome!
Cheers! -
