Steve123ParticipantHi,
Is Convertplug fully compatible with MyMail, please? It is supposed to be, but since I installed Convertplug, MyMail will not send through Sendgrid but uses my hosting account’s email service to deliver all my newsletters. I have no idea how or why?How do I make everything work as it should, please?
Thanks,

Rue NelModeratorHello Steve,
Thanks for writing in! ConvertPlug should work with MyMail. To properly integrate it, please check out this documentation here: https://www.convertplug.com/mymail-wordpress-popup-plugin/
Hope this helps.

RadModeratorHi there,
In that case, please clone your site into staging where we can investigate. That way, we can fully check it without harming your live site. I had to disable some plugins while testing, especially the optimization and security plugin. Then please provide the ConverPlug instance that has this issue.
Thanks!

Steve123ParticipantThanks but, I don’t know what you mean – “provide the ConverPlug instance that has this issue.” Convertplug is a plugin, so how do I “provide” it? It’s on my site.
I’ve described the problem as well as I can – since installing X and Convertplug, MyMail plugin, with which you say your software is 100% compatible, DOES NOT SEND THROUGH SENDGRID as all my settings instruct it to, but sends my newsletters through my hosting account.
As for cloning to a staging area? I’m no tech guru, so I have no idea how the devil I’m supposed to do that.
Please advise.

JoaoModeratorHi Steve,
In order to find out what is hapenning with your website we need to turn on and off stuff, there is no other.
As you have stressed that we should not do that because you have a lot of things depending on it we need you to either authorize us to freely turn on and off things as we test it, or to clone your website so we can test.
You can use the plugin all in one migration and install in another hosting service or in a sub folder of your website as you prefer.
Regarding “provide the ConverPlug instance that has this issue.” Please provide which of your modals exactly you are refering to and on which page you have applied, and if necessary how to launch it.
Thanks
Joao

Steve123ParticipantThanks, Joao, but it is NOT a modal. I don’t know how to explain it more. I am NOT talking about signup emails after someone has subscribed using a convertplug optin box.
Before I installed Convertplug and X, all my newsletter sent through Sendgrid. Now, they don’t – they go through my hosting account. Yes, I have the coinvertplug Sendgrid plugin, but it does NOT send through Sendgrid.
I repeat it is NOT a modal. I am guessing it is something to do with how convertplug connects to my installation that is altering how MyMail works, even though I have convertplug configured to work with Mymail.
Do you understand the problem, please? There is no point in going further until you grasp what is wrong?

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thank you for the clarifications! Have you setup SMTP within WordPress using SendGrid. Please try to check this link: http://wpdeve.com/blog/how-to-use-smtp-mailing-in-wordpress/
Hope this would help.

Steve123ParticipantPlease listen to me!
My system worked perfectly before I got X and Convertplug. PERFECTLY. MyMail sent my newsletters through Sendgrid.
Then, I installed YOUR theme and plugin and MY SITE NO LONGER WORKS PROPERLY!
I do NOT want advice on basic WP setup. I want someone to UNDERSTAND THAT YOUR SOFTWARE IS OVERRIDING THE SETTINGS I MAKE! Please grasp this.
Either X or more probably Convertplug is overriding my settings to send my newsletters through Sendgrid and is making MyMail send them through my hosting account.
I’m sorry, but how many more times do I have to explain this – YOUR SOFTWARE BROKE MY WEBSITE! Please listen and offer help instead of basic WP tutorials which are no help at all.
Do you understand now??? PLEASE say you do!

ChristianModeratorI understand. In this case, please uninstall X and Convertplug since the issue started when you used them. Or, you can restore your site from the date it was still working. This is to make your live site function normally again.
As said previously, since your website is live and you don’t want it messed up, setup a development stage or simply create a new WordPress site, replicate or copy your live site then install X and Convertplug there and also the necessary add-ons. We could not investigate further until this is done because we could not touch your live site and we could not solve it without changing some settings which might cause further issues.
Please understand that we do not have any idea what your previous system was. Please give us more details about that also. How it worked previously without X and Convertplug?
Thank you.

Steve123ParticipantI’m sorry, but what do you mean give you more details?
I use MyMail to send newsletters.
It sends them through Sendgrid.
Before X and convertplug, everything worked fine.
Now those are installed, MyMail sends through my hosting account as if x/convertplug have somehow overridden the settings I put in place. (YES, I have convertplug configured to use MyMail/Sengrid.)This is NOT complicated. I don’t know how many times I can say the exact same thing in different words?
Please tell me which part of that you do not understand and I will try again.
October 31, 2016 at 5:53 am #1237678
ChristianModeratorAlright. Have you made a copy of your site? If you cannot do this, can we change settings in your live site? Working in the live is not recommended and as you said:
Please do NOT deactivate or change anything without checking with me first
If you don’t like both options then there is nothing we can do to investigate.
Thank you.
