This is related to 2treadbrewing.com
Yesterday we noticed that the content on our website had disappeared. The template and menus and associated design elements were still there, but there was an error message that said that there is no content. I also couldn’t log into my wp-admin console for that site, but could for my development site.
I spent 4 hours on the phone with Hostgator where they tried diligently and eventually killed my database links then they finally got me back to the start- without any content on the site. I tried a restore of the backup from when I know it was working and I now get this error- “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ”);’ (T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE) in /home2/billd/public_html/wp-config.php on line 81″.
FWIW I also can’t get updates to X even though I have linked to the domain. Any help appreciated!

Still can’t update any of the X theme or plugins though have linked them. Any advice on this still appreciated!
January 8, 2017 at 10:49 pm #1321810Hello There,
Thanks for writing in! It appears that you are several versions behind. Our latest versions are:
X Theme: 4.6.4
Cornerstone: 1.3.3
Visual Composer: 5.0.1And please be advised that X Shortcodes has been retired. Please deactivate and delete X Shortcodes plugin. Please take note that X shortcodes and its functionality has been consolidated into Cornerstone which you can install by going to X Addons > Extensions. To know more about Cornerstone, please check it here: https://theme.co/cornerstone/
You can find the latest version numbers here: (http://theme.co/changelog/) Then you can compare them to what’s installed on your site.
If you find anything to be out of date, you can review our update guide. And since you have difficulty in doing the updates automatically, you may need to update X manually.
Please let us know how it goes.

I’m sorry, but your credentials are invalid. We can help you to update, however you need to take a full backup of your site first. You can contact your hosting provider with regard to this, so that your content will be safe.
Thanks!

Thanks for updating in! I have logged int and it appears that X is not validated. You have to validate it so that you can connect to our themeco server and get the updates right in your dashboard. I can see that you are using an older version of X. Please update X manually. You can download the latest version right in your dashboard (https://community.theme.co/dashboard/). To know more how you can update the X theme, please check this: https://community.theme.co/kb/updating-your-theme-and-plugins/
Please keep in mind that X Shortcodes has been retired and being replace by Cornerstone. Please deactivate and delete X-shortcode plugin. To know more about Cornerstone, please check it here: https://theme.co/cornerstone/
Hope this helps.
January 21, 2017 at 9:07 am #1339646It doesn’t update- that’s what I’m trying to get help with! I also can’t validate it (which is probably why I can’t update it).
January 21, 2017 at 3:31 pm #1339901Hi there,
Your X version is 3.2.2 which quite old, the update mechanism is different from the new version of X. This could also the reason you break your site since you’re updating it with a big version gap. The newer version uses Purchase key, while that old version uses API Key. Please update it manually through FTP, by deleting your old theme and upload new version then validate your Purchase key in admin.
Thanks!
