    Hey all,

So I’m building this demo on a temporary domain name. I’ve built a lot of sites with X and Cornerstone. I have another 7 licences in the pipeline and can’t say I’ve ever had this problem before, it truly is strange!

The number slider in the above page just isn’t working. I’ve deactivated all plugins to no avail. I then tested Contact Form 7 in the Rosa theme and it works fine. Any ideas? I shall leave the login credentials below

    Many Thanks

    Jay

    Hi there,

Thanks for writing in! The latest supported version of Contact Form 7 is 4.4.1 ( see the compatible versions here https://community.theme.co/kb/version-compatibility/ ) and you’re using v4.5 which could be causing a conflict. Try downgrading the plugin to the 4.4.1 version and see if this resolves the issue.

Let us know how this goes!

    Hi,

Well this is the version that X packaged in just this morning, further more I’m not a fan of using out dated plugins as they can and do lead to malware injections…

I’ve downgraded to 4.4.1 which I knew would be a waste of time and unfortunately it hasn’t worked…

    Hello There,

Thanks for the updates! Could you please clarify further what seems to be the issue? At the moment all I see is the slider in your site.

Regretfully, at this time I am not entirely certain what it is you would like to accomplish based on the information given in your post. If you wouldn’t mind providing us with a little more clarification on what it is you’re wanting to do (a link to a similar example site would be very helpful, or perhaps some screenshots), we’ll be happy to provide you with a response once we have a better understanding of the situation.

    Thank you.

Hi – Well it’s funny how the last guy knew what I was talking about but you don’t?

The sliders aren’t there for fun – there purpose is to scroll a number up or down. The X-theme has bundled contact form 7 since the very beginning and I believe the older members of staff will understand perfectly why the above “sliders” aren’t operating the way that they should.

Could we pass this on to someone more experienced without using generic messages?

    Many Thanks

    Hi there,

Another support here. The last recommendation is just about making sure that versions are compatible just to make sure it won’t affect the investigation.

I checked your site and I myself isn’t sure what’s the issue about the number slider ( aka “Range” type input ). Range type input is browser’s default control, it doesn’t need to be specific to Contact Form 7 or the theme. Example, http://www.w3schools.com/html/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_input_range

What do you mean by it’s not working? How can we tell when it’s not working? Doesn’t it move as you slide it? Because it’s moving and working on my test.

I tried the overall functionality of the form and it works.

Thank you for your message. It has been sent.

Are you not getting the email? Then it’s not related to range type input. Or not getting the data selected from Range type?

Please provide a video recording of the issues you’re getting.

If you’re on Internet Explorer or Edge browser, then it’s not going to work. Because they don’t have support for “Range” type controls. http://www.w3schools.com/jsref/dom_obj_range.asp. It’s not Theme or plugin issue, but browser issue.

    Thanks!

    Hi Rad,

When select the number of the amount of people that are showing up, could you see the amount of people you were selecting? The contact form is missing the numbers to indicate the slider as shown in your screen shot.

Did you know that you selected 59 days? 4 kids? and 3 adults? If you did I’d be intrigued to see how you knew this because it doesn’t indicate the selected numbers on any browsers – safari, opera, firefox or chrome.

Really wondering why you guys can’t see this clear problem when selecting a number… How do you know what number you are selecting? that’s the only question you have to ask yourself…

    Hey Jay,

Sorry for the confusion but we didn’t understand what you mean by

“The number slider in the above page just isn’t working.”

If you said the number is missing it must have been clear. This is most probably why my colleagues asked for further details.

I see that there’s no number but this is neither an issue with X nor Cornerstone. I’ve tested a contact form with range field in default 2015 theme and just the Contact Form 7 plugin and there’s really no number. As previously said by my colleague, this is the browser’s default. In our perspective, it works. See http://www.w3schools.com/html/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_input_range. Your Rosa theme might have CSS and JS for range input type.

If you want numbers, you can do a customization like https://css-tricks.com/value-bubbles-for-range-inputs/. That however falls outside the scope of our support so you might want to contact our trusted partners who caters X setup and customization needs. Please see https://community.theme.co/custom-development/

Please also take note of the GOLDEN RULE in our sidebar.

    Thank you.
