colorcomParticipantNew to WordPress and XTheme and can’t figure out how to clear the cache. I spent a lot of time in searching the topics but can’t find something current. Is there a setting in WordPress or in XTheme that flushes the cache or do I have to install a plug-in to do this.

Prasant RaiModeratorHello There,
Thanks for writing in!
In general there are 2 kind of cache, web and browser cache.
Web Cache: Plugins like W3 Total Cache or WP Super Cache once installed and will cache your WordPress posts and pages as static files. To clear site or web cache please walk-through following artile:
Browser Cache: Internet browsers use caching to store HTML web pages by storing a copy of visited pages and then using that copy to render when you re-visit that page. If the date on the page is the same date as the previously stored copy, then the computer uses the one on your hard drive rather than re-downloading it from the internet.
To clear browser cache please walk-through following article: https://kb.iu.edu/d/ahic
Thanks.

colorcomParticipantGreat! Thanks for the specifics. I wasn’t sure if I needed a plug-in to clear the WordPress cache after reading through the forums. (Yes, I know the routine for the browser cache, and thanks for clarifying the differences. I posted to another forum about deleting a custom template and was worried about how it might affect a page that used the deleted template.
Just checking to make sure that clearing the cache won’t affect any pages that are based on the deleted template.
Much appreciation for the great and speedy support!
