I have a couple questions pertaining to child themes. I’ve never used them as my X sites have all mainly had minor changes. I’ve decided to implement them on my X sites after reading some horror stories with updates and what not.

I read the instructions on installing a child theme using these instructions: https://community.theme.co/kb/how-to-setup-child-themes/

    Questions…

    – Once I have the child theme uploaded and activated, that’s it? I don’t need to do anything else?
    – Once it’s activated, do I need to make my CSS/JS changes that I normally make within Customizer any place differently?
    – What other (if any) changes will I need to make in my normal editing/customizing behavior once my child theme is activated?

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hello Maza,

    Thanks for writing in!

    1) All you need to do is install and activate. After that you can start using or making changes right away.
    2) No there is no need to migrate CSS or Js code from Customizer to child theme. You can continue using Customizer for CSS and JS modifications.
    3) If you find yourself adding new functions which requires making changes in core files of X in that scenario we highly recommend you to take full advantage of X child theme.

    Thanks.
