koruailimitedParticipantHello
I have read this https://community.theme.co/kb/how-to-setup-child-themes/ in the Knowledge Base.
I don’t understand it. Sorry, I’m a beginner. So, once I have installed and activate the x child theme. What do I have to do?
I have tried to install this plugin “Child Theme Configurator” but It’s not working with x theme 🙁
Do I have to create another folder like “X – child”? Do I have to copy css or functions.php? Do I have to change my domain to connect with the new template and folder?
Thanks

ChristianModeratorHey there,
Once the child theme is installed, the next thing would be to validate X. See https://community.theme.co/kb/product-validation/ for instruction. After that, you can import an X demo. See https://community.theme.co/kb/demo-content/
You don’t have to create a folder since installing the child theme does that for you.
CSS must be placed in Appearance > Customize > Custom > CSS and not in functions.php. If you’re not comfortable with coding, I recommend not placing any code in functions.php yourself.
You don’t have to change domain.
Thanks.
