geoffmartynParticipantHi folks,
I think there’s something up with the Theme and how it handles the style.css in the child theme. I have a number of sites hosted on Theme.co and also a few others on WPEngine. For the latter, all caching is off. For the former, once a site gets into a loop where it won’t recognise a change in the Child theme style.css I have to move all further CSS additions to the customizer and ask for a purge of the cache.
Private window and/or clearing local cache doesn’t seem to make any difference either so I don’t think it’s down to hosting.
Also, I run a number of other themes on both hosting platforms and none of them experience this kind of thing.
I can see a few other threads along the same lines, but given that the workaround is to put the changes in the customizer, I’m not sure how this would prove that it’s a cache issue.
Any thoughts appreciated. I can give a login to a site via private post if necessary, but I have 25 at the moment and most of them fall into the same trap.
Thanks
Geoff

JoaoModeratorHi Geoff,
Is that hapenning on websites on both hostings?
Would you mind sending WP and Admin Credentials of a couple examples of site, if possible hosted in different hostings?
Cheers.

FriechModeratorHi Geoff,
Actually it does work. Before I added the color property the
font-size: 22px !important;was already there taking effect. I added thecolor: red;property to confirm, it did not take effect on first page refresh but it did when I clear my browser’s cache.Same thing with the second site.
Try to use incognito mode.
Thanks.

geoffmartynParticipantThanks Friech,
That’s just weird. Two locations, two separate Macs, two different hosts, tried clearing cache, changing DNS to Google and then back to my ISP, ingognito and still this happens every so often. It’s like it gets so far and then gives up honouring the changes in the child css.
Thank you for looking into this for me though.
